Your privacy matters to us. Supportd is built on the principle that participants and providers should be able to use this platform with complete confidence in how their information is handled. We will always be transparent, we will never sell your data, and we will always comply with Australian privacy law.
Supportd Pty Ltd ("Supportd", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
For participants and families, we collect your name, email address, phone number, suburb and the details you share in matching enquiries. For providers, we collect your name, business name, ABN, email address, profile content, service areas and billing information processed securely via Stripe. We do not store credit card details. All payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never passes through our systems.
We use participant information solely to match you with relevant providers and respond to your enquiries. We never sell participant data or share it with any third party outside of the matching process. Provider information is used to display your profile in our directory, process your subscription and contact you about your account. We use analytics tools to understand how the platform is used so we can improve it over time.
When a participant submits a matching enquiry, their contact details and support needs are shared only with the provider or providers they are matched with. Participants who enquire directly through a provider's profile consent to that provider receiving their contact details. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers or any third party for marketing purposes. We never have and we never will.
Supportd uses Supabase for data storage, hosted in the Asia-Pacific region in Sydney. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections via HTTPS, row-level security on our database and secure authentication. All data is stored in Australia. We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required by law.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information and ask us to delete your data. We understand that health and disability information is sensitive. Any information you share with us about a participant's disability, health conditions or support needs is treated with the highest level of care. This information is used only for the purpose of matching you with appropriate providers and is never disclosed beyond that purpose without your explicit consent.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how visitors use the platform. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites and we do not sell your browsing data to anyone.
We use Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for database and authentication, Resend for transactional emails and Vercel for hosting. Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their handling of data. We carefully select providers who meet high standards for data security and privacy.
Supportd serves many participants who are minors. When a parent, guardian or nominee submits an enquiry or creates an account on behalf of a minor, we treat that individual's information with additional care. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves or as legal requirements change. We will notify registered providers of significant changes via email. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent update.
